Barely six weeks into Obama’s Presidency and he insults the British Prime Minister.  Nevermind that US DVD’s do not always play on the DVD players overseas, but why would you give movies to begin with?  Is this your family at Christmas?

Michelle Obama was just as thoughtless.  Wow, Marine One Helicopter toys.  Maybe the kids should have received the DVD’s. 

I’m not saying it is easy to find that special gift, but you would think with all the people that Obama has, someone would have the sense to know how this works.   No press conference, no dinner, and lousy gifts.

The British press is having a field day with this.   I guess someone let Obama know, because now he is saying he is “overwhelmed” with all the stress.

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been “overwhelmed” by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama’s inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president’s surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama’s inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to “even fake an interest in foreign policy”.

Then we have Hillary Clinton.  Who thought of the reset button anyway?  Did they hire the same ad team that came up with the Staples button?  

Why do we need to “reset” our relationship with Russia?  I understand that Obama still thinks Bush was bad at everything he did, but you can’t keep going back on that line.  You have to go forward not backward.  Reset is backward.

Between Obama and Hillary, lets hope neither one receives a phone call at 3am, they would have no one to blame.
