A bailout for the auto industry will not solve their problems.  The unions have so much power over them even if they layoff workers they still get paychecks and insurance.  I’m not sure how it all works and how many still get the paychecks, but something has to be done about the unions before the auto industry can be saved.

Maybe if they file bankruptcy the union will finally let go and settle for more realistic goals for its members.
