Bin Laden’s Publicist Gets Life
Posted by: acm in Bin Laden, Gitmo, terrorism, tags: Bin Laden, Gitmo, terrorismA U.S. military tribunal at Guantanamo sentenced Osama bin Laden’s media secretary, Yemeni Ali Hamza al Bahlul to life in prison.
During the trial last week that ended on Friday, Bahlul and his lawyer refused to participate. Bahlul broke his silence at the sentencing hearing today and delivered a speech praising bin Laden and predicting his own conviction would strengthen al Qaeda’s fight against the United States.
Since he was sentenced to life in prison, this should be at Gitmo. But McCain and Obama want to close Gitmo. Do we want this person in a prison here in the United States?
